Infinite Recovery Alumni

Everyone who walks through the doors of Infinite Recovery is a part of our family from that day forward. Our team makes sure to include each person in continuing care and events so no one simply discharges - they become a part of the community and our Infinite Family. Community is central to our recovery program at Infinite Recovery. We believe that the best way to overcome addiction and transform your life is to integrate recovery into every facet of your life. We’re located in Austin, TX and experiencing this great city is a focal point of recovery.

About Our Alumni Program

Building new relationships with sober, healthy individuals is key to long-term recovery and sustained satisfaction in sobriety. Infinite Recovery wholeheartedly believes that a meaningful and purpose-filled life is the foundation of sobriety, and that’s the guiding mission behind our Alumni Program: to build strong, lasting relationships with our brothers and sisters in recovery after discharging from our program. We believe that once a person crosses our doorway, they are a part of our Infinite family for life. As a part of our alumni program, we make sure to invite each member to weekly events, recommend that they take part in our aftercare program for at least 6 months, frequently check in on their progress and assess any transitional obstacles they may face as they rebuild their life without drugs or alcohol. We also encourage alumni to take part in our alumni meetings, get involved in the Austin recovery community at large, and visit our center to share their own experience with current clients.

Recovery Services Manager: Jon Waters

Infinite Recovery’s Alumni Coordinator Jon Waters has a passion for recovery and helping people succeed. As a person in long-term recovery who found sobriety in Texas, Waters holds this recovery community near and dear to his heart. Jon brings years of experience to the Infinite team having previously worked at Brazos Recovery Services and The Ranch at Clear Springs, and has since become heavily involved in community outreach and advocacy. Jon is also a member of the Austin Alumni Alliance and regularly works with RecoveryATX. When Jon isn’t carrying the message and helping others recover from the disease of addiction, he’s spending time with his wife Lauren and son August, playing softball, or enjoying the gifts of sobriety.

Block Party

One of the biggest changes for people entering recovery is the shift in friendships or social groups. It’s often difficult for people to maintain old friendships or develop new ones without the right support upon leaving a drug rehab in Austin, Texas. Our team at Infinite Recovery has created a safe, fun, sober community by bringing everyone together for our monthly Block Party! The last Friday of every month, we will be providing food, fun, and solution to anyone who wants to come out and fill not only their stomachs, but their spirits as well.

For many people freshly sober, our Block Party can be surprising. Many of these people have never experienced an event full of connected, authentic people. “I’ve never been to a crawfish boil without a beer in my hand. This is amazing! I’ve never hung out with this many sober people outside of a meeting. You mean all of this is free?” These were a few of the phrases overheard last Friday.

Our team’s mission in hosting the Block Party, along with Pink Cloud Vape Shop & Lounge, is to give people in our recovery community a chance to relax and feel comfortable. Not only are the food and drinks free, but we also have a speaker who shares his or her story after everyone is good and fed. Our entire purpose is to create a relatable, comfortable, and safe environment for those seeking recovery.

The experience so far has been truly amazing! With over 100 people in attendance at each of our Block Parties, we can’t express enough gratitude to those who have come and supported the community. Socializing in sobriety can be difficult. Many of us hid behind drugs or alcohol to feel comfortable. These events are meant to not only spread a strong solution, but to also help people in recovery realize that they belong and can feel a part of our community.

So bring a friend, bring a neighbor, bring your mom! Just know that you and whoever you come with will always be welcomed with open arms!
