The opioid and heroin epidemic in the United States continues to devastate communities all across the country. Recently, Delray Beach, with a population of 62,000, saw 88 overdose cases in the month of October.

The 88 overdoses broke the previous record of 66 in a single month. Delray law enforcement officials believe that the increase in overdoses may be the result of dealers mixing heroin with other drugs. In the past, we’ve covered how heroin is often mixed with fentanyl to make an especially deadly and potent cocktail.
