Infinite Recovery is proud to offer interventions as an added service, along with our full continuum of care for substance use disorder treatment in Austin, Texas.
What is an Intervention?
An intervention is a process of loved ones and a professional interventionist addressing an individual, or person of concern (POC), about their harmful behaviors. Interventions can be initiated to address a person’s substance use disorder, eating disorder, gambling addiction, gaming addiction, internet addiction, sex addiction, or other process addictions. Infinite Recovery’s interventionists specialize in substance use disorders and can assist with helping placement of people suffering from other addictions.
Infinite Recovery’s interventionists have been trained using the ARISE Continuing Care with Intervention model. This specific intervention model is invitational and is most successful when the family or circle of support actively engages in the process. This model addresses the person of concern’s addiction with understanding, and imposes consequences if the person of concern is not willing to accept help.
Why are interventions needed?
Interventions are typically initiated when the person of concern is unwilling to accept help. Reasons why a person of concern may not accept help range from a lack of acceptance around their own disease, prioritizing work or relationships over treatment, or fear of legal consequences if they admit to using. An intervention helps to address these concerns, invites the person of concern to actively engage in their own recovery, and resolve fears prior to initiating recovery.
